Is Online Banking and Mobile Banking the same thing?

Although Online and Mobile banking deliver a lot of the same information, you need the mobile banking app to use mobile banking. Online banking is accessed through browsers on computers or mobile devices by visiting www.communitynationalbank.com.

There are different features available on each service. For example, mobile deposit is only available using Mobile banking where Online banking offers more bank transaction history.

What is Mobile text?

Mobile text is a feature of Online banking and is available if you have a mobile device that can send and receive text messages. This service allows you to view the balance and limited activity on accounts.

It's a good alternative if Internet service is not available.

How do I sign up for Mobile Text?
  1. Log in to your Internet banking account and go to the "Mobile Settings" and "Text Mobile Settings".
  2. Select "Enable text access for your mobile device" and then accept the terms and conditions.
  3. Enter your mobile phone number and select your wireless provider.
  4. Select the accounts you want to access through Mobile text. Be sure to select a mobile short name for each account, such as "Sav" for your savings account. This short name will be used for your text commands and then select "Submit".
  5. Select "Confirm" and a text message will be sent to your mobile device.
  6. Be sure to text "Yes" to complete your enrollment. A confirmation message will be sent to your mobile device once the process is complete.
What are the text commands I can use for Mobile Text?
  • Help - provides list of commands
  • Bal - all account balances
  • Bal mobile short name - single account balance
  • Hist - all accounts recent activity
  • Hist mobile short name - single account activity
  • Stop - cancels Mobile text service

For a balance on a single account, such as your savings account that you've assigned a short name of "sav" to, you will simply text "bal sav".

Will my account information from Mobile Text stay on my phone?

Your phone will only store the information provided via the text message you receive from Mobile text that includes your mobile short names, account balances and transaction history. You may delete the text messages when you no longer need them as an extra precaution for account safety.
